
Millions of people are celebrating and rallying for climate action this Earth Day, but we’re also seeing how dedicated young people are to spending more than just one day working to pass legislation and find community solutions to global warming. Today, Focus the Nation and Clif MOJO are proud to announce three projects that will be examples of that determination to make positive and sustainable change through Project Slingshot.

What’s up, youth climate movement? Focus the Nation here. We haven’t spoken in a little while, but exciting things have been happening in our crazy little attic at Lewis & Clark College. Just earlier this week our 900th team signed up, bringing us within double digits of our total goal: 1000 groups registered for Focus the Nation. Can you taste it? Yeah, it’s that close.

This morning, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who’s been consistently and vehemently writing about the need for a clean energy revolution for the past several years, just threw down the gauntlet, and he’s calling us out!
In this morning’s article, he called us “‘Generation Q’ - the Quiet Americans” and accused us of being “too quiet, too online for our own good, and for the country’s own good,” saying we’re “so much less radical and politically engaged than they need to be.”
